Who We Are
McAllen Porta Pros started as a two-truck operation run by Mike Castillo, a former construction superintendent who got tired of chasing portable toilet companies to show up on time. He bought his first unit in 2008, added a second, and the business grew because contractors began calling him back. Today we're the largest independent sanitation rental company in the Rio Grande Valley, with a fleet that includes standard portable toilets, ADA-accessible units, luxury restroom trailers and septic pumping trucks.
We're locally owned. Every decision gets made here in McAllen, not at a regional call center. That means when you call with a problem at 3 a.m., you talk to someone who knows the area, knows your job site and can dispatch a truck that's already on the road nearby. We've built relationships with the general contractors at major projects in Pharr (7.4 miles southeast), Mission (7.1 miles west) and San Juan (7.5 miles southeast). We also handle one-off rentals: home renovations, backyard weddings, emergency restroom rental for disaster relief, and temporary sanitation for farm and agricultural work.
How We Work
A standard portable toilet holds 60 to 70 gallons and measures about 44 by 48 inches on the ground. We deliver and service according to your schedule. Most customers rent on a weekly basis, and we follow ANSI/PSAI Z4.3, which sets the baseline interval at one service visit per week for up to 10 users. If your site is busier or dirtier, we increase frequency at no surprise charge.
For construction site services, we size your fleet to meet OSHA requirements. Per OSHA 1926.51(c)(1), a site with 20 workers needs 1 toilet facility. A site with 40 to 50 workers needs 1 toilet seat and 1 urinal. We help you calculate what you actually need and get it in place before your crew arrives. If your job involves painting, coatings, herbicides or insecticides, we can deliver portable sinks with soap and towel dispensers, which meet the washing facility rules in 29 CFR 1910.141(d)(2). Hand sanitizer alone does not satisfy the requirement, so our stations come with both.
For septic tank cleaning, we service residential tanks, commercial holding tank rentals and grease trap pumping. A residential septic tank is typically pumped every 3 to 5 years depending on tank size and household size, and we can advise you on the right interval for your property. We arrive with vacuum trucks, measure the tank depth, pump it clean and dispose of waste at an approved facility. A grease interceptor is pumped when fats, oils, grease and solids reach 25 percent of the liquid depth, and we handle that compliance check for you.

What Sets Us Apart
We own every truck and every portable unit. No subcontracting. That means the person who pumps your tank is trained by us, carries our insurance and knows the McAllen area. We've invested in newer equipment over the last five years: our standard units are regularly refurbished, our deluxe flushable porta potties and trailers have fresh water systems and heating, and our vacuum trucks are equipped with ground fault circuit interrupter protection per OSHA 1926.404(b)(1)(ii). We also maintain relationships with city permits offices in McAllen and the Valley, so we can advise you on placement rules and help you avoid delays.
We price fairly and quote honestly. Unlike national chains, we don't mark up a delivery fee and hide surcharges in the fine print. You'll find our daily rental rates and monthly options on the cost page, and they don't change between the time we quote you and the time we bill you.
How do I request a rental?
Call or submit a quote request with your project start date, expected user count and duration. We'll confirm availability, walk you through sizing, and send a one-page quote via email. Approval takes minutes.
Do you service areas outside McAllen?
Yes. We regularly deliver to Alton (8.2 miles northwest), Hidalgo (9.7 miles south), Alamo (9.9 miles east), Weslaco (18.1 miles east) and Edinburg (12.0 miles northeast). Call for your specific location.
Can I move a unit if my project schedule changes?
Yes. We allow one relocation per rental at no charge. If you need a second move, we charge a service fee. This keeps you flexible without leaving units sitting idle.
What happens if a unit fails during my rental?
We replace it the same day, usually within two hours. You never pay for downtime. If we can't make that window, we credit you a full day's rental.
Are your ADA units really accessible?
Yes. We stock units that meet ADA Standards section 213.2: at least one per cluster is accessible with a 36-inch clear width per section 403.5.1, a 32-inch clear door opening per section 404.2.3, and a 60-inch turning circle per section 304.3.1. We can place them where your users need them.
